Chef John grew up in Kearny, a small mining town in southeast Arizona. While serving in the US Coast Guard, he spent time in San Francisco, California; Seattle, Washington and Kodiak, Alaska. John graduated from Scottsdale Culinary Institute. In addition to his many years at Whirlwind, John has also worked at Pinetop Country Club, the London Bridge Resort in Lake Havasu, Arizona and Ocotillo Golf Club in Chandler. John is proud to be the longest tenured Executive Chef for Troon.
John married his wife Angela in 2013. In his spare time, he enjoys cooking for his family and friends. John and Angela love spending free time with their two mini doxies, Lucy & Leroy at their cabin in Lakeside, Arizona.
